Gordon obtained a first class honours degree in Applied Computing from the University of Dundee in 1999 and received his PhD in Computer Vision from the same university in 2003.

Gordon has worked in the gaming industry designing and implementing an 'event manager' in C++ for a driving simulator while working for Visual Science in Dundee, as well as tutoring and lecturing in computer systems at the University of Dundee. After receiving his doctorate, Gordon's appointments (post-doctoral researcher on a Scottish Enterprise Proof of Concept project, Scottish Enterprise/Royal Society of Edinburgh Enterprise Fellowship) were heavily focused on commercialisation of technology developed during his PhD, giving him experience of the issues involved with spinning-out a company and bringing a new product to market.

Strong software engineering background, excellent design and implementation skills. Strong background in mathematics, probability theory, statistics (non-classical/Bayesian), machine learning and artifical intelligence - potential applications in data mining and searching.

Outside work Gordon is kept busy cycling to and fro and looking after his two sons, Connor and Stefan.
