Blue Square Merger

We are pleased to annouce that as of 30th June 2009, Blue Square Design and Blue Square E-Business have formally merged as part of a review of our business. The move has been brought about by the increasing need our clients have for our full range of services covering design for traditional print, all media advertising, design for new media and e-business solutions. (read more on our website)

As a result the business is now stronger and better structured and we are able to offer an enchanced service to our clients. The only administrative change is that all invoices will now come from Blue Square and E-Business customers will require to change the bank account details for their BACS payments. Details are being mailed to your admin departments.

There has never been a better time to advertise!

Advertising expenditure levels in the UK fell by a total of 4.0% last year, according to new figures released by the Advertising Association and WARC (World Advertising Research Centre).

Although the drop affected most traditional media, (including press, TV and Radio) both cinema (1%) and online (19%) saw rises in advertising spend.

So the good news for business is: there has never been a better time to advertise! Blue Square are able to buy all types of advertising media (including, TV & Radio, Outdoor and Online) at some heavily discounted rates and we have the proven ability to create campaigns that will drive sales for you in these current difficult times.  For further information contact Brian Cairns on 01382 223111.

The Begining of the End for IE 6

YouTube (a Google owned company) has recently indicated that it will be phasing out support for the browser Internet Explorer version 6.

The online video website is pointing to the fact that ‘modern’ browsers like Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.5 are now widely available, highly functional, much improved and more secure alternatives for web users.  Read more on our blog.

Although we will continue to support IE6 in the short term we now urge any clients still on IE6 to upgrade now!

Client Profile: Singing Kettle

Blue Square have been working for The Singing Kettle, Scotland’s leading children’s entertainers, for nearly ten years, creating colourful promotional print material, outdoor and press advertising to match their colourful stage shows. The Singing Kettle appreciate the fast efficient turnaround enabling the forthcoming show to be fully marketed to the audiences at each preceding show venue. The visuals are fairly complicated with multi-cutouts of cast members and instruments, often involving up to 20 photoshop layers. It’s a difficult but rewarding task. Client Profile: James & George Collie

Blue Square are delighted to announce that they have recently been appointed to re-design and build James and George Collie's website and e-newsletter.

We are very excited to to be working with such a well known and established firm of Aberdeen Solicitors and will no doubt feature the output for this client in future editions of this newsletter.
