BEAR Scotland manage and maintain both the North East and South East trunk road networks on behalf of Transport Scotland. They also undertake civil engineering projects.

Brief

B2 were initially involved in the design and production of a corporate brochure heralding the award of both NE and SE contracts and introducing the company to stakeholders, councillors and local government officers. Leaflets and exhibition pop-up, illustrating the trunk roads network and BEAR Scotland activities were also produced. Following this B2 were briefed with designing and building a website that enabled BEAR Scotland to content manage their three areas of operation, the BEAR Scotland corporate website, the North East Trunk Road Network and the South East Trunk Road Network.

Solution

Blue Square created a Portal entry to the BEAR Scotland site allowing users to enter either of the three above mentioned sites. We adopted a common (yet different) design across the three sites to keep consistency whilst at the same time not confusing the user as to which area of the site they were in. The trunk road network sites are also hosted on sub-domains allowing direct advertising of these url's to the public. The site is coded to W3C standards, fully content managed, using the customisable Blue Square Content Administration System and has search, pdf, print and text only facilities for accessibility.
